The Democrats in the senate are debating removing Joe Lieberman from his three committee chairmanships, but fear that he will switch parties and give Republicans the majority even though he swore to Connecticut voters that he would spend his entire term caucusing with Democrats.

I think the Democrats should strip him of his seats, and if he decided to switch parties, so be it. The Democrats have already been filibustered to death by the Republican minority and congress shuts down in a few weeks until after the election anyway. Hopefully, Demcrats will pick up two seats and Liberman's switch won't mean anything.

In a sign of how much Lieberman is hated, one of his biggest advisor's quit in protest:

Joe Lieberman returned to Capitol Hill today -- his first day back since speaking at the GOP convention -- and was greeted by the resignation of his $120,000-a-year legislative director Joe Goffman.

He gave no reason for his departure -- but indicated he has no firm future plans.
