When Tommy Thompson was President Bush's secretary of the Health and Human Services Department, he was widely critized by New York lawmakers, unions and just about everyone (right and left of the aisle) for not doing enough to help and moniter the health of workers at the World Trade Center after the September 11th attacks.
Now, guess what?
Thompson's private company has won an $11 million contract to treat some of those same workers — the latest twist in a fitful government effort to determine how many people were made ill by the toxic debris — and to care for them. The contract awarded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is aimed at tracking the health of between 4,000 and 6,000 workers who live outside the New York City area, where a separate health monitoring program is in place. The CDC is part of the Health and Human Services Department, which Thompson headed in Bush's first term.

It's too bad Bush could not have been cronie-free like Obama apparaently is. I mean, he obviously does not have any shady connections and money dealings with lowlife heads in Chicago.

The minute any of Obama's constituents cause the death of an individual then you can criticize. Thompson's failure with the 9/11 victims is incomparable.
