The State of Israel has made a public offer to Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr to headline Israel's 60th birthday celebration this summer.
Interestingly, The Beatles were booked to appear in Israel in 1965, but the government refused to grant the necessary permits to the band on the ground that its music might corrupt the country's morals?!? In the offer to Paul and Ringo, Israel apologized for making such a stupid decision.
They must have realized it wasn't the music of The Beatles that was doing real damage to the youth of Israel. Oy.......
