With McCain getting a less than warm welcoming by the Republican establishment, a growing lobbyist scandel, as well as his new, and potentially criminal, FEC scandel, rumors are flying that Mitt Romney will rejoin the Presidential race.
We've also heard from some friends of friends who happen to be lobbyists (gasp!) that Mayor Bloomberg is being heavily courted by both Obama and McCain as a potential Vice President nominee. Sadly, we hear that Bloomberg has expressed more interest in McCain because he only plans on running for one term as opposed to Obama, who would run for re-election.
While it's too early to say who either candidates VP would be, Bloomberg on either ticket would be a gigantic get, both financially and for independent voters.
Anyone hear any other VP nominee rumors......

I am a former Obama campaign worker (worked in NY, NJ, and NH) and I kind of doubt either will go with Bloomberg. McCain is having problems galore with the right wing and picking a prochoice progun control VP would almost guarantee the lack of turnout from right wing voters.
Now Obama probably wouldnt pick Bloomberg because their messages are too similar. If Obama were to pick Bloomberg it would just be pandering to his own base.
I can however see both camps trying to court Bloombergs once mentioned possible third party running mate Chuck Hagel. He is legitimately viewed as the ultimate moderate as he is an anti-war prolifer who can carry some red states.
But Obama's real problem is with blue collar voters and hispanics. Therefore I think he will either go with Bill Richardson or Jim Webb (D-VA). Richardson because he helps with the aforementione hispanics and has tons of foreign policy experience, and Jim Webb being a former vet helps with blue collar workers and also lends some foreign policy cred.

Oh forgot to mention that Webb is from an all important swing state.

How is Obama's message and Bloomberg's message too similar. Even though bloomberg has lost touch with his ideals over the past few years, he still is a free-market, pro-business politician, unlike obama whose voting record flirts with socialism.
Ronnie, although I am not a big supporter of Mr. McCain, should he choose to approach me, I would consider my options and consult with my family regarding the opportunity.

Both appeal to the same consitutency. The reason Obama won in Iowa and most super tuesday states were because of Republicans crossing over and voting in the democratic primaries. Obama's coalition consists of the educated upper class liberals, blacks, and moderate republicans/independents.
When you look at Bloomberg his support comes from the educated upper class and moderate republicans/independents.
What Obama needs to do to win the general election is expand his base, lately he has been making in roads with blue collar workers and hispanics however both have been a problem for him. If he just appeals to the base he already has their wouldnt be any room for growth.

Where has McCain said he was only running for one term?
And the "growing" lobbyist scandal was stillborn.

Forgive ME, but more about the subject, please!! You are going away from the topic too frequently, therefore it is uneasy to read your posts.

Many times I tried to figure out, what are people talking about here and what they mean by saying stuff like that. And I realized that they just don’t have a clue about the topic themselves. It’s kinda strange. Anyway I have to say that you mast understand, what’s really doing on to comment things. Otherwise you will look and sound stupid.
