Jay Z is heading out on tour to promote "American Gangster," his second album album since announcing his retirement. Tickets for his November 11th Hammerstein Ballroom went on sale yesterday and immediately sold out.
"American Gangster" is a concept album, most of which was produced by Sean "Diddy" Combs, that was inspired by the upcoming Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe film.
Jay-Z stated that he recorded nine tracks for the album, with almost every one of them based on a specific scene from the film. Def Jam's Senior Vice President of Marketing Tracey Waples also noted that each track from the album will have its own "mini-film".
