Cat Power's forthcoming album, Jukebox, drops on January 22nd via Matador.
On Monday, Cat Power played the 9:30 club with the Child Ballads (ex-Jonathan Fire*Eater). The Child Ballads play a free CMJ show at Mo Pitkins on Thursday, October 18th, at noon.......

I don't know about two cover albums in a row for cat power (two right)?
Saw childballads show- the singer is insane, in a good way, though some people near me were too dumb to get the joke. He was moving around and spouting verse like (forgive obvious references) an OCD/teurets Iggy Pop ghost got into the body of a teenage Dylan with a more overt sense of humor and a penchant for dollar-store switchblade combs. But some people want their singers all straight-up and safe...
