Remember that infamous August 6, 2001, memo entitled "Osama bin Laden Determined To Strike in US" that President Bush ignored while he was on vacation? Well, it looks like our intelligence agency released a very similiar memo. Here's the story from ABC News:
A secret U.S. law enforcement report, prepared for the Department of Homeland Security, warns that al Qaeda is planning a terror "spectacular" this summer, according to a senior official with access to the document.
"This is reminiscent of the warnings and intelligence we were getting in the summer of 2001," the official told ABCNews.com.
As ABCNews.com reported, U.S. law enforcement officials received intelligence reports two weeks ago warning of terror attacks in Glasgow and Prague, the Czech Republic, against "airport infrastructure and aircraft."
The warnings apparently never reached officials in Scotland, who said this weekend they had received "no advance intelligence" that Glasgow might be a target.
While the threat doesn't say that the attack will take place on U.S. soil, this is still truly scary news. So, do you feel safer thanks to President Bush's War on Terror? And which Presidential candidate will best protect Americans from real threats.....

Have you noticed that these "spectacular" warnings always seem to come at a time when the White House is in extreme crisis mode? The subpoena issues with the VP's office suddenly disappeared from the front pages with the Glasgow "attack" and now this... Haven't we learned by now?

I totally agree with you Telex, but with everything going on in the UK right, especially the part about us having knowledge and not sharing it, show how frightening, unprepared, and disorganized our national security still is under the Bush Administration.

You just referred to that conspiracy theorist imbecile above you as "telex." I am equally amused and insulted! Actually more amused though, that's pretty funny.
For all that I disagree with this administration on, from border control to stem cell vetoes, we are resoundingly safer thanks to a hawkish, proactive, aggressive policy against these animals.

I had easy time reading your blog. But it seems now it's over :(. Man, this post sucks. I hope at least the next one won't be.

I think that people should communicate, no matter where they do it – in real life or in Internet.
