Urban Outfitters has organized the Free Yr Radio Tour, in which bands will perform free afternoon in-stores at select Urban Outfitter locations to benefit internet radio stations. The other daty, internet radio stations and those small regional stations who rely so much on their internet audience, were dealt a major blog when the government denied their appeal of raising the royalty rate for the use of sound recordings on Internet radio stations for 2006-2010.
I'm not sure exactly how these events free shows will put money into the pockets of stations, but I'm hoping it will. Here's who's playing and when. Exact store locations can be found at Free Yr Radio's website.........
